  13. No, with DirectDraw you can do proper double, tripple or whatever 
  14. buffering with ease, at 640x480 or higher resolution (depending on how 
  15. much ram your video card has) at very high speed. A very simple example 
  16. supplied with DirectDraw (an asteroids type game) runs at 640x480 full 
  17. screen at up to 80 frames per second, fully buffered, and my video card, 
  18. although new, is certainly not a top of the range model.
